Day of Action Against Gun Violence in Schools

Oak Grove Educators Association stands behind our community’s shared goal that all students and staff are safe at school. As members of CTA and NEA we support their efforts to bring national attention to these issues.

OGEA will do the following:

1.    Keep the focus on student safety, mental health awareness of students and staff, advocating for more mental health and character education in our schools, and we will actively support CTA and NEA organized actions.

2.    On April 20 there will of a moment of silence in all our classrooms at 10:00 am, to show our respect and condolences for the victims of school violence and support for the communities that have suffered losses. The superintendent has agreed to make this districtwide.

3.    We are asking for all members to wear their UNITY IS POWER shirt on April 20 and we will provide an orange sticker for all staff to wear (orange is the color of solidarity for the day across the country).
